CAS Constructors, LLC, is an award winning, water/wastewater treatment construction company founded in 1985 and acquired by Alberici Corporation in 2012. CAS has successfully completed over 400 water and wastewater treatment projects throughout the Midwest developing a legacy of efficiency, reliability, safety and quality in water and wastewater construction.
CAS has extensive experience in utilizing the Design/Build and Construction Manager at Risk project delivery methods. Design/Build means we partner with owners and engineers to design and build the safest, most efficient and cost effective solutions. We call it Win-Win-Win. It saves time and money, maximizes efficiency and safety, and ensures the project will be on time and on budget.
At CAS, our extremely low employee turnover is a key element in our superior water and wastewater knowledge base. We hire only the most qualified employees and reward them for their passion, performance and outstanding achievement. These highly qualified employees are also the safest group around with no lost time accidents or injuries for over 23 years! Our commitment to the employees, and their commitment to CAS's success, is an unbeatable combination.
Employees are provided with a comprehensive employee benefits package that is designed specifically for construction employees. It includes a medical, dental, and vision insurance benefit; short and long term disability; life insurance; flexible spending accounts, and prescription safety glasses. The 401(k) plan is matched 50% on the dollar up to 6% of contributions. CAS also offers employees an opportunity to give back to the community through 16 hours of paid time off for charitable work, in addition to paid holidays, vacation and personal leave.
Laborers, Carpenters and Pipefitters
Projects are located in Hays, Wichita and Emporia
Laborers perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. Employees will do demolition, preparation and clean-up of job site, dig trenches, set braces, erect scaffolding, and use hand and power tools. Other craft workers will often have a laborer assigned to them as a helper.
Carpenters in our line of work will set concrete gang forms, finish concrete, rig and set equipment and pumps (millwright work). Employees will also build doors or brattices in underground passageways to control the proper circulation of air through the passageways and to the working places. They may frame buildings, build stairways and install door frames and doors, but generally do not do finish carpentry work.
Pipefitters have special knowledge of installing, assembling, repairing, laying out, inspecting and testing pipe systems of various shapes, sizes and pressures. They cut, thread, hammer, weld, braze, cement, solder and clamp pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders. A good deal of creativity is needed to ensure proper placement and alignment according to blueprints and instructions.
Water and waste water treatment plant construction also requires the ability to lay underground pipe, set pumps, and install valves. Large forms are built to make enormous concrete structures which requires all employees to participate in the process. Employees gain a wealth of experience on our projects!
