CAS Wins Two AGC Awards for Layne High Service Pump Station
TOPEKA KS -
CAS was recognized twice at the Kanstruct 2018 Conference for the Rehabilitation of Layne High Service Pump Station. The first Award of Honor was for Design Build and the second Award of Honor was in the Public Infrastructure division. Jamie King was the project manager and Tom Parkin was the superintendent for this project.
The project started in March 2016 and was completed in two separate phases. Phase I consisted of installing several new valves and flow meters throughout the facility which allowed the pump station to be isolated from both the east and west, giving the city flexibility in operating the station. Phase II of the project entailed removal and replacement of five high service pumps, as well as all associated suction, discharge, and drain piping for the entire facility. In addition, the pump station also received a new roof, windows, HVAC upgrades, new asphalt paving, and concrete steps.
